What does it mean to remember without knowing that you remember? Is ‘unconscious memory’ something like the ‘memory’ of a machine? Or is it more like Freud’s idea of screen memory? Can the two accounts be reconciled? Is there legitimacy in subscribing to both?

In this talk, Dr Sowon Park will take the topic of unconscious memory across several disciplinary and cultural borders. Her task is to find where, if anywhere, we can find a unifying thread in the various iterations of ‘remembering without knowing’.
